The North Eastern Council (NEC) has sanctioned gap funding of ₹51.178 lakh for the residential costs associated with Skill Training in the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics (AVGC) and IT-ITES sectors. Approved on August 8, 2025, this project will be implemented by the North Eastern Region Community Resources Management Society (NERCORMS), Shillong. The AVGC sector is experiencing rapid growth globally and in India, with the Indian industry projected to expand from ₹188 billion in 2023 to ₹419 billion by 2027
