In his address, Dr. Shakil P. Ahammed, IAS, Chief Secretary, Meghalaya, highlighted the importance of the census for planning of various welfare schemes of the government. He urged officers present to take steps to publicize the census and its importance so that the general public will be sensitized and will come forward to participate in the census.
Dr. Pooja Pandey, IAS, State Nodal Officer for Census highlighted the usage of technology in this digital census and that it will facilitate for easier compilation of data, besides making data more accurate and secure. The State Nodal Officer also urged the officers to leverage the local grassroot administration in making announcements to make the public aware of the census
