Title: Shillong Traffic Police Issues Traffic Advisory for Durga Puja Celebrations and Idol Immersion on 21st October 2026

Description:
The advisory includes sector-wise NO ENTRY restrictions and designated NO PARKING ZONES to ensure smooth traffic flow throughout the festive period. Further, parking and stopping of vehicles within a radius of 100 METERS FROM PUJA PANDALS will not be permitted. Vehicles found violating these restrictions will be liable for challaning, clamping or removal, as applicable under law.
In this regard, the general public is requested to carefully go through the enclosed advisory, plan their journey in advance, use alternative routes wherever necessary to avoid congestion, use authorised parking facilities and strictly adhere to the prescribed traffic regulations and instructions.

Emergency vehicles including ambulances and fire service vehicles will be given priority passage during their movement and will be facilitated.
The Shillong Traffic Police (STP) solicits the cooperation of all citizens and visitors to ensure a safe, smooth and hassle-free Durga Puja celebrations.
