Title: Appeal for Identification of Unidentified Deceased Male Person Found at NES Bharat Petrol Pump, 12th Mile, Mawsmai, Ri-Bhoi District

Description:
During enquiry, Shri Ranjan Kumar, Fuel Dispenser at the petrol pump, stated that at about 2:00 AM, he noticed a male person, aged approximately 55–60 years, sleeping near the toilet area of the petrol pump. At about 5:30 AM, when he went to wake the said person, he found him unconscious and unresponsive. He thereafter informed the Manager, who subsequently informed the police.
During further enquiry, it was learnt that the deceased was reportedly a rag picker, who was frequently seen collecting recyclable materials in and around the area. However, his identity and address could not be ascertained. Enquiries were also made with nearby villagers and the local Headman, and their assistance was sought in identifying the deceased; however, none of them could identify him. Further, no missing person report relating to any person matching the description of the deceased had been received at Byrnihat Police Station.
Despite efforts made during the course of enquiry, the identity and particulars of the deceased could not be established. Photographs of the deceased were taken from different angles, and the dead body was shifted to Civil Hospital, Nongpoh, for post-mortem examination. The dead body has thereafter been preserved at the mortuary of Civil Hospital, Nongpoh, pending identification and claim by his family members/relatives
