Title: Legal Awareness Programme Observed on World Elder Abuse Awareness Day at Nongjyllieh Village. West Khasi Hills District

During the programme, Smti B. Marngar, ALADC, spoke on the provisions of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, and highlighted various social assistance schemes available for senior citizens. Representatives from the District Social Welfare Office (DSWO) and the Block Development Office also informed the gathering about government welfare schemes and benefits available to elderly citizens.
An interactive session was held, providing participants an opportunity to seek clarification on issues concerning the welfare and rights of senior citizens. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Shri C. Kharsyntiew, ALADC
