On 09-05-2026, at about 01:50 PM, received a telephonic information from the Headman of Mulait Bri-Sumer village that an unidentified male dead body was spotted floating inside a water-filled abandoned coal mine at Mulait Bri-Sumer. On receipt of the information, police team from Mooriap BOP rushed to the place of occurrence for enquiry and verification. On arrival at the spot, the unidentified dead body was found floating in semi-submerged condition inside the abandoned coal mine at the depth of about 50 feet from the surface level. Accordingly, SDRF rescue team was informed. Thereafter, with the help of the rescue team, the dead body was retrieved from the coal mine. After observing all legal formalities, the dead body was forwarded to Civil Hospital, Khliehriat to ascertain the actual cause of death. The dead body in a decomposed state has been kept at the morgue room for identification and claim by the family relatives if any
