It is to be informed that one active cadre of Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) namely Samuel Wahlang Pahsyntiew @ Samuel Wahlang, S/o (L) Edwin Lyngdoh Mawnai & Beryl Wahlang Pahsyntiew, R/o Umpohwin, OP-Mawlasnai, Ri-Bhoi District surrendered to the Superintendent of Police, Eastern West Khasi Hills District, Mairang on 25th February 2026 in the presence of his family members, village authorities and senior police officers. He is suspected to be involved in the IED blast near the Syndicate Bus Stand, close to Them Motor, Iewmawlong, Shillong on 9th March 2024 and many other similar acts in the last few years.

During examination, he revealed that he along with some Bangladesh based HNLC cadres have been trying to lure young people to become members of the unlawful association during the last 2 years. Based on other information, a case vide CBPS (ER) Case No. 01(02)2026 u/s 3(5)/61(2)/113(1)(2)(3)(4)(5)(6)(7)/147/148/308(1)(3)(4)/351(2) BNS has been registered and two cadres, who are involved in planting the IED in Umsning market on 12th October 2025, which was later recovered and defused safely, were arrested from Umsning. Investigation is going on and further action shall be taken accordingly
