During the visit, the Speaker reviewed the ongoing works in preparation for the Pre-Christmas celebration scheduled for December 19, which will be held at the new premises for the first time. He noted that the team assessed overall progress and confirmed that necessary arrangements are moving forward as planned. A significant part of the inspection focused on the power supply infrastructure being implemented by the Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited (MeECL). The Speaker informed that constructive discussions were held with MeECL officials to explore ways to expedite the connection of the main power line to the complex at the earliest possible time. The delegation also examined issues related to additional land requirements, in coordination with officials of the Urban Affairs Department, and carried out field inspections as part of the review. Expressing satisfaction with the progress, Shri Sangma stated that the team is pleased with the pace and quality of work on the project.
