For public convenience and better administration, the Government of Meghalaya has notified for the creation of a new Police Station at Dakopgre in the West Garo Hills District to be known as Dakopgre Police Station. On creation of Dakopgre Police Station, the areas coming under its jurisdiction shall cease to be under Tura Police Station. Further, the Government of Meghalaya through a Notification issued, has also notified for the creation of new Police Outposts. The new Police Outposts are at Maweit in West Khasi Hills District to be known as Maweit Police Outpost, at Ashugre in South Garo Hills District to be known as Ashugre Police Outpost and at Jadi in South Garo Hills District to be known as Jadi Police Outpost
