Speaking on the occasion, Smti. R V Suchiang highlighted that the booklets are designed to serve as practical guides for officers and the public in ensuring effective implementation of the RTI Act, 2005. She emphasized that a better understanding of the roles of the PIOs and FAAs would contribute significantly to transparency, accountability and good governance.
Smti. Ripnar Lyngdoh noted that the publications simplify the procedural and statutory aspects of the RTI process, making them accessible to officials at all levels of government as well as to citizens seeking information.
The booklets will be made available to all government departments, public authorities and other stakeholders, and will also be accessible through the official website of the Meghalaya State Information Commission
