An officer and one personnel of the Meghalaya Civil Defence & Home Guards Department were awarded the Meritorious Service Medal (MSM) on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day of India. As per an official communication received from the Ministry of Home Affairs, GoI on the eve of the 79th Independence Day of India, Smti. Badalyne Kharkongor, Divisional Commandant of Home Guards, Shillong Home Guards Division and Naik Parsing Ch Marak, Central Training Institute of Civil Defence & Home Guards were awarded the Meritorious Service Medal from the Civil Defence & Home Guards Department of the State
