On the morning of 13th March, 2026, a group of people reported to the District Police that some camouflage dresses and live rounds of ammunitions were found inside the Williamnagar Mosque premises. Upon enquiry, it was learnt that one Police personnel of East Garo Hills DEF has been residing in a rental accommodation within the Mosque compound. The said personnel, currently on proper leave, left his personal belongings, including his Police uniforms with name plate, belt, boots, camouflage uniforms, ammunition pouch etc., wherein 4 (Four) number of live ammunitions were also found present.

Further, it is hereby appealed to the public to refrain from uploading or spreading false information on social media platforms with malicious intent. Failing to comply with this appeal shall be viewed seriously and shall attract stringent legal action
