Title: Legal Literacy Programme on Prohibition of Child Marriage held at Tura

The programme aimed to create awareness among students and the community about the legal provisions relating to child marriage and the importance of protecting the rights and well-being of children.
Shri Jingjang Ch. Marak, Assistant Legal Aid Defence Counsel, Tura, delivered the welcome address and highlighted the 100-day district action plan being implemented across the state to strengthen awareness and enforcement of the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006.
The session was chaired by Miss I.R. Marak, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Tura, who spoke on the legal framework and the need for collective community efforts to eliminate child marriage.
The District Child Protection Officer (DCPO), West Garo Hills, also addressed the gathering and spoke on Mission Vatsalya rehabilitation modules and child protection mechanisms available for children affected by or at risk of child marriage
