Speaking to the media, Smt. Rida Lyndem, PTI, from the DSO Office, Nongpoh, informed that young boys and girls from various villages across Ri Bhoi district participated in the Kho-Kho and Kabaddi events. She stated that the competitions were organised with the objective of strengthening and promoting these two indigenous sports in the state. Both games are key disciplines under the Rural Games of the Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs, and the enthusiastic participation of Ri Bhoi’s youth made the event a grand success. She expressed special gratitude to the Ri Bhoi Kho-Kho Association for taking the initiative to mobilise young players for the tournament. She also commended all the participating boys and girls for their active and spirited involvement in the games
