Functions and Objectives
Chief Minister’s Secretariat is not an Administrative Department. Its functions is to provide Secretariat assistance to the Chief Minister as noted below:-

Handling all the letters/petitions/memoranda addressed to the Chief Minister.

Issue of all the D.O. letters from Chief Minister drafted by different Departments.

Matters relating to Swatantrata Sainik Samman Pension formerly known as Freedom Fighters Pension Scheme.

Matters relating to the office establishment of Chief Minister's Cells at Nongstoin, Tura, Williamnagar and Jowai.

Preparation of Budget and control of expenditure under the following heads:

2013-Council of Minister (Sub-heads relating Chief Minister).

2052-Sectt. Genl. expenses-I-Civil Department-A Sectt.-(a) Chief Minister's Sectt.

2053-Dist. Admn-094- Other Estt. (G) C.M's Cell.

Procurement of all office furniture and stationeries for C .M's Sectt. C.M's office chamber and C.M's residential office.

Repair and maintenance of C.M's cars and staff car.

Preparation of bills.

Pay bill/T.A. bill of Chief Minister and his office establishment.

Medical bill/T.A bill of Chief Minister and the Officers/staff of his Secretariat.

Contingency bills including water supply and electric bills of Chief Minister's residence

Advance of all sorts.

Verification/ reconcilation of figures with Accountant General in so far as the expenditures under the head enume-rated vide Sl. 4 above.
