Description:
The Deputy Commissioner (Excise), West Khasi Hills District, Nongstoiñ, Smti. Hema Nayak, IAS, has declared 2nd October 2026 as a “Dry Day” throughout West Khasi Hills District on account of Gandhi Jayanti.
Accordingly, all liquor shops, IMFL shops, canteens and bonded warehouses in the district shall remain closed on the said date.
Violation of the order shall attract punishment as prescribed under the applicable Excise Acts and Rules
