Shri. Abhilash Baranwal, IAS, District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District, hereby issue the following prohibitory order which shall have the force within the jurisdiction of the Sadar Police Station under East Khasi Hills District:

1). No person, group or organization shall organise, hold, or participate in any procession, rally, demonstration, public meeting or assembly without prior written permission from the District Administration.

2). Any assembly of five or more persons with the intention of conducting protests, demonstrations, rallies or gatherings that may disturb public order or disrupt normal life is hereby prohibited.

3). The use of loudspeakers, megaphones, amplifiers or public address systems in public places is strictly prohibited without prior permission from the Competent Authority.

4). No person shall carry arms, sticks, stones, rods, or any object capable of causing injury or damage to life and property in connection with the protests, demonstrations, rallies or gatherings prohibited under this Order.

Any person, group, organization or association found causing disruption of normal life, preventing public or employee activities, enforcing shutdowns, damaging public or private property, or committing acts subversive of law and order shall be criminally liable under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, as well as the various provisions of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023.

In view of the urgency of the matter, this Order is passed ex-parte and it shall come into force with immediate effect and until further orders
