This is for the general information of the public that the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, has instituted the “Jeevan Raksha Padak Series of Awards, 2026” for meritorious acts of humane nature in saving the life of a person in incidents such as drowning, accidents, fire incidents, electrocution, landslides, animal attacks, and rescue operations in mines, etc. As the name suggests, the award is conferred upon rescuers for saving human lives.

The awards are given in three categories:
(i) Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak
(ii) Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak
(iii) Jeevan Raksha Padak

Intending individuals from East Khasi Hills District who wish to have their names recommended for the award are required to submit their nominations to the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong, on or before 3rd June, 2026
