Title: Traffic Advisory issued ahead of Hon’ble Vice President of India visit to Shillong on 7th–8th September 2026

In view of the visit and to facilitate the smooth and safe movement of the VVIP convoy, vehicular traffic flow may be temporarily slowed in the following places during the movement of the convoy:
Umiam – Mawlai Mawiong – Golfinks – CRPF Junction – Polo – 4th Furlong – IGP – Kachari – Police Bazaar.
General public are requested to plan their travel in advance, allow additional travel time and cooperate with the traffic police to ensure smooth flow of vehicular traffic.
However, Emergency service vehicles, including ambulances, fire services and other emergency responders will be given priority passage during such movements.
Inconvenience caused in this regard is highly regretted
