The programme was graced by Shri. Sosthenes Sohtun, Hon’ble Minister In-charge, Secretariat Administration Department, Govt. of Meghalaya as the Chief Guest. In his address, he stated that such induction training programmes provide a strong foundation for newly recruited officials and play a significant role in preparing them to effectively discharge their responsibilities in government administration. He emphasised the importance of discipline, integrity, accountability, professionalism, and dedication in public service, while reminding the participants that LDAs play a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the Secretariat and citizen-centric governance.

The Hon’ble Minister further highlighted that governance and public administration today have become increasingly technology-driven, making it essential for government employees to continuously learn, adapt, and upgrade their skills. He appreciated the inclusion of sessions on Artificial Intelligence tools such as ChatGPT and Perplexity, stating that such digital tools would support efficiency, innovation, and improved service delivery for the people of Meghalaya. He also encouraged the participants to remain committed to lifelong learning and conveyed his best wishes for a successful and meaningful career in public service
