During January, 2026, The North Eastern Council (NEC) released a total amount of 5,69,53,000/- ₹for a number of projects including, Construction of School Bulding at RKM School, Nongjngi Nartiang, Support of (1.5T) MRI Machine at Tura Civil Hospital, Meghalaya, Construction of R.K Mission School, Sohra, Providing Show case/Galleries, Lighting, etc in the New Building of Williamson Sangma State Museum, Shillong, Meghalaya.
Under NESIDS (Roads), 3.91 crore was released to support key road connectivity projects in₹ the state. The fund covers work(s) such as the Construction of a road from Shillong city to Umroi Airport under Ri-Bhoi district (length-14.279 KM) in the state of Meghalaya, contributing to improved access in remote and administrative areas, benefitting population of around 7287 and 10 villages
