Title: Justice for Minor Survivor: Significant Sentence in POCSO Case at Khliehriat

On completion of trial, the Hon'ble Court of Smti. B. Khriam, Special Judge (POCSO), East Jaintia Hills District, Khliehriat found accused Shri. Peitlang Bamon guilty of committing an offence against minor and sentenced him for a period of 4 & 3 (four and three) years imprisonment for an offence punishable u/s 8 & 12 of POCSO Act along with fine of ₹ 20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand) each of section only. In default of payment, he will serve an additional 1 (one) month simple imprisonment. A compensation of ₹ 1,50,000/- (Rupees One Lakh Fifty Thousand) only to be paid to the minor survivor
