On the sad demise of (Late) Dr. D. D. Lapang, former Chief Minister of Meghalaya on the 12th September, 2025, it has been decided that a State Funeral will be held at Shillong, East Khasi Hills District on the 15th September, 2025. The venue of the State Funeral will be conducted at Student’s Field, Jaiaw at 1:00 PM on 15th September, 2025 and the burial will be at Jaiaw Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Weiking, Jaiaw
