Title: Man Convicted for Wife’s Murder, Sentenced to Life Imprisonment in Jowai

The Hon’ble Court of the Sessions Judge, Jowai, Shri N. A. Khan, has convicted one Shri Stam Surong in connection with Sessions Case No. 37 of 2015 with life imprisonment for committed uxoricide case by burning his wife.
The case was originated by the FIR filed by Shri Barwill Singh Sari before the In-charge, Ummulong Beat House that on 08.09.2006 at approximately 5:00 AM, the accused, Shri Stam Surong (son of Lo Shadap, resident of Mukhla Nongrim village), committed uxoricide by burning his wife, Smt. Before Sari, alive using kerosene oil inside their residence. Before succumbing to her injuries, the victim revealed the details of the incident to her family members. The case was registered vide Jowai P.S. Case No. 104(9)06 U/S 302 IPC and it was investigated into and Charge Sheeted by SI A. Rymbai.
After a thorough trial, the Hon'ble Court found the accused guilty of the offence punishable Under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code.
Consequently, the convict, Shri Stam Surong, has been sentenced to Life Imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹ 5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand)
