Title: North Garo Hills celebrates 77th Republic Day with patriotic fervour

The State Minister for Public Health Engineering (PHE), Soil & Water Conservation, Shri Marcuise N. Marak, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and unfurled the National Flag, followed by the ceremonial Rashtrya Salute. He was accompanied by Kharkutta MLA, Shri Rupert Momin.
In his ceremonial address, Shri Marcuise N. Marak paid rich tributes to the valiant freedom fighters of the Nation including Mahatma Gandhi, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, and others who laid the foundation of the Republic. He also honoured the sacrifices of the State freedom heroes U Kiang Nangbah, U Tirot Singh, and Pa Togan Nengminja, along with the State and Central defence and security forces who continue to safeguard the sovereignty and integrity of the country. Highlighting the developmental initiatives undertaken by the Government, the Minister spoke on various departmental flagship programmes and ongoing infrastructure projects aimed at accelerating socio-economic progress in Meghalaya
