The office of the Deputy Commissioner (Excise), East Khasi Hills District, in its continued drive against illicit liquor, conducted raids in restaurants/stalls in the town and its outskirts where during the month of July 2025, the Excise staff detected 8 cases with a seizure of 275.000 litres of i/d liquor and 19.280 litres IMFL. In this connection 3 persons have been arrested under the Excise Act
