Unidentified Body Recovered from Umiam Lake; Public Assistance Sought for Identification

An information was received that there is a dead body floating at Umiam lake behind IB quarter. On reaching the PO, the body could not be located. Accordingly, the SRT from Shillong was called for assistance and the dead body was fished out from the lake. Inquest was conducted. The identity of the person is yet to be established as no ID card was found on his body. After inquest, the body was forwarded to Civil hospital Nongpoh for Post Mortem examination.

Any person who can identify the dead body may approach Civil Hospital Nongpoh.
